Rainbow Baby Bohemian Flower Shower

I spent a lot of time debating wether or not I would have a baby shower for our rainbow. I was already gifted so many amazing and essential items at Solomon's baby shower... Nursery furniture, mamaroo, boppy, bottles, toys... you name it. I knew if I threw another shower that it would definitely not be about the gifts; but a symbolic gesture and celebration of Violet's long awaited arrival. In the Brazilian culture, It's unheard of for anyone to throw any party for you... I knew it would take work, a little stress, and frankly... the funds to throw something I could be proud of. So I bit the bullet and got to work.

We had our amazing and super talented friend that always helps us with our party planning and she has made both of my Baby Shower dreams come true (Solomon's baby shower brunch). She always executes my "Vision" so beautifully and I was so very please with how our "Little Bohemian Flower Shower" theme came together :).

Main table & Decorations

For the main table background, I went out an purchased 4 Supreme wooden palettes from the local palette store for only $6 each! (Yes, there is such a thing as a palette store, who'd a thought! lol). I used a Pinterest picture for inspiration and asked my wonderful dad'aroo to screw them together and vóila we have a backdrop! I purchased this macrame window curtain  for Violet's room and it also doubled as the the palette decoration, score! Then we added some dreamcatchers and flowers for detail :). The table we used is actually our dinning table (Also DIY'ed by good ol' dad).

Flower Crown Bar

Since I decided to make this shower for women only, I wanted to incorporate something super fun and girly! I thought of hiring someone that could do really nice "mermaid" hair braids on the guests but then I realized some people really might not like their hair touched. Then I thought about a back and neck massager, but that wasn't right. I finally came up with the idea to do a DIY activity! I was in-between a DIY body scrub bar (too messy) but finally settled on the Flower crown station. I was worried the guests would struggle (It's easy once you get the hang of it!) but after a small tutorial, everyone seemed to enjoy it. I got a lot of compliments on how much fun the activity was and that made me really happy :). I bought all the flowers from our local Hobby Lobby and went on a day where all the faux flowers were 50% off. We assorted them in random glass bowls and containers we had around the house and it also jazzed up our ugly eye sore of a jacuzzi.

Food & Drinks

The event started at 1:00pm, so I wanted to serve a late lunch. While the guests arrived, we had an assortment of beverages such as water, juices, red sangria and a refreshing fruit smoothie served with some typical Brazilian finger foods such as Empadas (mini chicken plot pie's) and Coxinhas (Fried chicken and cheese balls), Yum! For lunch (not pictured) we had a buffet style table offering Rice, chicken Strogonoff with mushrooms, baked asparagus with a side of a colorful salad with fruits. For dessert, we has cupcakes, these amazing fruit tartes, and THE most mouth watering Dulce de Leche and coconut Cake you ever tasted. Everything was truly delicious!!

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate our sweet Violet! I am so happy to have been able to share such a special day with you ❤️! Your love and support has been so uplifting this past year and am so grateful for all of my family an friends.
